Haley’s story

My story is a bit like an interior design sandwich with high tech filling. I grew up in Portland, Oregon loving all things housing and design, decorating any room I could get my hands on (as my college roommates can attest)! I spent my summers through high school and college working at architecture and design firms, learning the trade.

In the late 90’s, the tech boom hit the SF Bay Area right as I graduated from Stanford and I joined a software startup after college. I spent the next 15 years building a career in technology, getting an MBA from Stanford and holding executive roles at a handful of local tech companies.

In 2015, sensing that it was time for a change, my husband and I left our tech jobs to take nearly a year off in Whitefish, Montana with our kids (then ages 4 and 6). It was a time of amazing personal growth for each of us and for our family as a whole. I returned to the Bay Area with clarity about my next chapter. On Cloud 9 Designs was formed within weeks of my return!

After many years leading complex software implementations, working with partners and vendors, and satisfying customers in a corporate environment, I am genuinely thrilled to use my creativity, organization and passion for interiors to delight clients with their home designs.
